What
Is Mitzvah Day?
Congregation Emanu El holds service to the community to be
among the highest values of its ancient tradition. We have a
long history of devotion to repairing the broken fragments of
society and serving the needs of the less fortunate. As it says
in the Torah, God's spirit is with us in every righteous
deed.
Established at Emanu El in 1992, Mitzvah Day is a congregation
community service day created to encourage our members to go
out into the community to make a difference in the lives of
others.

How Do You Get Involved?
It's easy! The Mitzvah Day Registration Form
is now available on this website! To begin the process, please
fill out the Online Registration
Form and we will respond to you as rapidly as possible
with your project assignment.
Don't want to submit your form online?
Around the High Holy Days, you will receive a Mitzvah Day Registration
Form which will include a complete list of all of our projects.
When you fill out the registration form, be sure to add any
special talent you may have such as singing, storytelling, etc.
Wherever you volunteer we are sure you will have a wonderful
experience. You will be contacted by a Team Captain with information

On Mitzvah Day
On Mitzvah Day, we have very brief opening ceremonies at 8:30
am in our Sanctuary. Donuts, coffee, juice and a special
Mitzvah Day T-Shirt will be available for everyone in Feld Hall.
You can help by bringing a needed item to Temple. (See
complete list of needed
items). Also, you can perform your first mitzvah of the day
and participate in our blood drive held at Temple.

About
Our Logo
Our logo was designed by Earl Littman, a member of our congregation.
It captures the essence of the spirit of Mitzvah Day. If you
look closely you will see in its design, helping hands and a
loving heart surrounding a sacred kiddush cup.
